Some people collect stamps, diligently pressing tiny squares of faded history into albums with tweezers. Others collect fridge magnets, building a chaotic mosaic of questionable souvenirs—half of which they probably bought in airports they never actually flew from. I? I collect liquid magic in glass bottles. Potions. Elixirs. Aromatic spells. And I do it with a level of commitment and enthusiasm that, quite frankly, should require a government-issued licence and possibly a warning label.
My perfume library is not a simple shelf. Oh no, it’s an entire scented cosmos, a meticulously curated universe where every bottle holds a personality, a backstory, and a mood. They stand there like glamorous, glass-clad guests at a party—some quietly refined, others unapologetically loud, and a few that only come out after dark when the sensible people have gone home. Each spritz is a passport stamp to somewhere else: one takes me to a sun-drenched balcony on the Amalfi Coast, another to a candlelit Parisian dinner where the wine is as heavy as the perfume on my skin. And yes—sometimes I spray myself just to feel gloriously, unnecessarily smug while making toast.
Now, to be absolutely transparent, my affections are not evenly distributed. My heart, my soul, and possibly my credit card are in a committed relationship with Essnce and Dossier. These two perfume houses are the holy grail for those of us who demand exceptional, full-bodied fragrance without pawning heirlooms or selling a kidney to afford it. They deliver on quality, elegance, and longevity in a way that makes me question why anyone would willingly drop three digits on a designer label when you can smell this good for a fraction of the price.
And before anyone starts squinting at this paragraph with suspicion—no, this is not sponsored content. There is no subtle influencer hustle here. No brand deal lurking behind my compliments. This is sheer, unfiltered, borderline-obsessive love. The kind of love where you find yourself sniffing your own wrist in public without shame. The kind where you delay leaving the house because you’re weighing the emotional impact of Hot Mimosa versus Ambery Saffron.
Some people measure their wealth in bank accounts, property portfolios, or gold. I measure mine in millilitres. And darling, my shelves are practically overflowing.
So, pour yourself something chilled (mine’s a rosé), settle into your comfiest chair, and allow me to introduce you to the crown jewels of my personal scent kingdom. This is my perfume library in all its fragrant, fabulous glory…

My Absolute Ride-or-Die Favourites
If my house was on fire (knock on wood), I’d grab these five first:
-
Hot Mimosa (Essnce) – because it is summer in liquid form.
-
Delicate Jasmine (Essnce) – the soft floral that always makes me feel put-together.
-
Black Velvet (Essnce) – mysterious nights and velvet dresses in scent form.
-
Ambery Saffron (Dossier) – rich and seductive without trying too hard.
-
Floral Pear (Dossier) – because nothing else smells quite so effortlessly joyful.
Waiting (Impatiently) for…
-
Spicy Mimosa (Dossier) – the sassy older cousin of Hot Mimosa.
-
Ambery Jasmine (Dossier) – not yet in my collection, but I’ve already mentally cleared shelf space for it.
- Irresistible Enigma (Essnce)– a scent you know turns heads
The Mystery Guest: Ffern Summer 2025 Edition
This one hasn’t arrived yet, but here’s how I imagine it:
A morning walk along a sun-lit dune, salty breeze tangled with citrus blossoms, a heartbeat of fresh-cut grass, and the warmth of driftwood kissed by the afternoon sun. Light enough to wear in the heat, interesting enough to make strangers ask, “What is that scent?”
Basically, bottled summer romance with a side of smug satisfaction.
Current Mood
Right now? I’m on my balcony, glass of rosé in hand, Hot Mimosa on my skin, and a whole extra week of holiday before the “serious work” alarm clock returns. I am, in this precise moment, the smell of happiness.

I have — a shelf to reorganise and possibly sniff for an unreasonably long time — to do.
And no, this post is, unfortunatly, not sponsored.
Until later / L
