I just wrote my first letter to the child, Wilson, that me and my family sponsors through PLAN Sweden in Peru. He is 3 years old and has a sister who is the same age as Alexius.
Our lives are similar but then again OH so different.
It was hard to write a letter to a little guy that lives so far away under such different circumstances.
Hard but fun and fulfilling.
We get to be Wilsons sponsor until he is 18 and I look forward to many years of exchanging letter with him and his family.
It costs about the same as 3 glossy magazines per month…so really not much at all. But what a difference we make.It makes one take a good look at how fortunate we are in the part of the world that we live in. How lucky we are to have a bed to sleep in and heating in our house, toys to play with and school to attend.
Why not skip the flowers and the chocolate this year for Valentines and do the following instead:
- Tell your partner that you love them over a candle lit dinner at home
- Sign up to sponsor a child through PLAN
- Buy a gift for your loved one, anything really, from the PLAN shop to make a difference and be a loving and giving person for real.
