Facebook reminded me that i was travelling to Italy exactly one year ago today.
What a year it has been since i entered the fantabolous 40ies.
I_Love_it!
This year has been filled with lots of laughter both at work as well as at home.
My husband is still hot as laaava and my kids makes me smile more often than not.
I have reconnected with old friends as well as let a few energy thieves go.
The realisation that I can do preeeeetty much what I want to as long as I follow my heart has been OH so liberating. And yes…quite a few of you out there will be sighing right now, mumbling to yourselves that that´s a given. But is it ..really?
I find that I, more often than I like to admit, care about what other people might think. That narrows my mind and creates a mind-rotting sense of insecurity.
So….i give myself full range of mind and view of life now that I have entered my wonderful 40ies.
My 41st birthday takes place this Saturday and I look forward to it like a kid before Christmas.
As per usual.
The day will be spent in the company of my family at home and I plan to cook and bake to perfection.
Sugar free perfection.
(I have noticed that I have a real hard time keeping it clean, sugar-wise, during PMS so I make sure I have sugar free alternatives to indulge in those few days of the month.
It takes planning but is totally worth it.)
So birthday, bring_it_on!
I royally enjoy not being a teenager or even in my 20ies anymore but what I DON’T enjoy is having adult acne. It sucks beyond words. Not only does my face tend to blow up in to red and yellow bumps of misery once a month it then usually decides to give me hell in between. The dream of a make-up free face that looks fresh and healthy has been elusive to say the least.
Well…sit down and brace your selves, until now that is.
I have tried everything from cheap to expensive brands both in make-up and skin care…and still nothing. I was offered some samples of Rituals day- and night cream and loved them…until I had used them for about 2 months. Voilá! My face pulls the old “so-you-think-that-would-work”-stunt and blows up right along my cheek bones and under my jawline as well as around my mouth.
Trés sexy. Not. I almost gave up but decided to go into research-mode instead.
I spent countless hours reading up on adult hormonal acne and found new inspiration and products to try out.
It has now been 2 months and I am yet to break out into the same kind of hell as I used to. KNOCK ON WOOD!
So what do I use?
Cleanser: NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash
Day cream: VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Moisturiser
Night cream: Ren Hud (“clean skin” in Swedish)
Scrub: NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash+ baking soda or if extra dry: Ren Hud + baking soda.
Mask: Organic honey + baking soda. Make paste and let sit for 20min. Rinse with lukewarm water
Toner: Naobay Calming toner

I follow Trinny Woodall on Facebook as well as being an avid reader of her blog (she is about as spunky as a woman could ever be and she is over 50. Love love love her)
My interest peaked when she showed the world her Foreo cleansing device.
I decided to try the cheap version that isn’t rechargeable (Luna Play) and I fell in love.
The LUNA Mini 2 is on my wish list for Saturday I tell you.
No routine is perfect and hormones are still hormones. So when the little buggers decide to show the beginning of their ugly faces I zap them using Basiron 5% with active ingredient of 5% Benzoylperoxid.
It works like magic + there is a 10% version if my face decides to really push it´s luck.
So there, the facial routine of a OH so fresh faced soon 41 year old.
Let me know what your special tips are 🙂
And NO I have not been sent any products nor have I been offered any kind of reduced price for above recommendations I just love them and want to share them with you.
